Biggest updates come in January and February 2013 - comparable with extension
After the big Halloween update in October and the Lost Coast in November we expect in December with the winter's new content in Guild Wars 2 But what's next after that? In an interview with Game Director Gamingbolt Colin Johanson said therefore among others about ArenaNet future update plans!
Major updates in January and February
As Johanson says in an interview, the focus is currently at ArenaNet on providing live updates. The big goal is to make something that had never before been done in an MMO, after it had appeared. And it was nothing more than a month to add huge update.
There had been a large (Halloween) Update in October and a further update in November and December, follow the big Christmas update. Gigantischere still seem new to us, however, expected early next year, because in the interview Johanson tells you that the updates are in January and February to be the biggest ever!
"They are even bigger than all the things that we've done in October, November and December. And I think when the players see how much content they get in January and February, with no monthly costs, they will be impressed. These two months together are basically free content, can be compared with an extension, "said Game Director.
Also paid expansions planned
In addition to these free updates ArenaNet plans also paid extensions for Guild Wars 2 Although the focus was currently on the live updates, a small team is already working on a major expansion.
In Guild Wars 1 we have published about every 6 months, a large extension, Johanson believes, however, that it is those in Guild Wars 2 does not give quite as often. It is very hard for six months to work on an extension to publish them and then we can start with the next, without burning out the team.
