'Guild Wars 2' hacking reports downplayed
Guild Wars 2 officials have downplayed reports of mass phishing attempts against its community over the Labor Day weekend.
It was previously claimed that more than 11,000 assistance tickets over faux emails designed to steal user data were logged during the three-day period, nonetheless NCSoft & ArenaNet have now downplayed the figure.
The studios claim that the amount of tickets submitted was closer to 8,500, not all of which were related to hacking difficulties.
"Over the past three days we've received in the order of eight,500 new support tickets associated to hacked accounts and other blocking login issues," read a statement from the firms.
ArenaNet last week announced that Guild Wars 2's trading post is now accessible to all users.
Accessible exclusively for Computer, Guild Wars 2 gold went live on August 25. It has since gone on to top the all-format & PC weekly charts.
