what is your /age so far across all characters?

  so far across all characters.

  For me I'm at 450 hours across all characters since launch.

  Not that I have it, but should have added 1500+ for the extremists. 1000 is only like 4 hours per day with a bit of extra on the weekends, can do that with a full time job. I know people with 1000+ in 3 months though, so there may be like 2000+ folks too. I cleared a 1000 last week and haven't logged back in heh.

  4 hours per day for 6 months is still a lot in my book for a single game... i don't know how people can play 1000+ in 3 months in any one Guild Wars 2 gold game even if I had the time I like some variety in games heh.. i generally swap around between a couple single player games and one or two of my current favorite MMOs.

Guild Wars 2 SimCity design lectures highlighted at GDC 2013


GDC 2013 organizers are highlighting more top talks for its March conference, which includes design lectures on Guild Wars two and SimCity, Brenda Romero's F2P "morning after," and panels on indie incubators/accelerators and physical/digital game mixing.

First up, the panel 'Incubators/Accelerators: An Inside Look at Startup Funding & Entrepreneurship Programs' will show to developers what help exists to start their contracts or companies and to program leaders how a few models support indies and entrepreneurship.

As for AR resistance on pets and such, know that I am actively in the market for solutions to that. It is not something we're unaware of, & it is an issue we are trying to develop solutions for. I am at scale 52 in the fractals, & pet insta-death above scale 20 is something I am acutely aware of & trying to resolve.

As for me being a PR individual, that is just not accurate. I'm a designer just trying to interact & talk with men and women. Plus I can't think of any company would want a mouth-piece who has as countless typos, spelling errors, & grammatical nonsense as I do speaking for them.

I'm of the opinion that your pet & summon should share the master's AR. That appears like the simplest most straight-forward remedy. We all agree the AR is a difficulty that has potential fixes, it is just figuring out how finest to fix it & making sure whatever we decide on works.

"A approach to make pets dodge would be amazing" is what I took away from it. What if a button existed that could make your pet dodge roll, or gave it evasion for several frames (no animation!) It might be named the "Dodge!" button, and every time I used it I could make a DBZ Abridged joke to my mates on TS.

But that doesn't remedy the predicament. It's a cool thought that I can bring up with folks, but would not address the problem of pets in dungeons while possibly adversely affecting PvP. Making the numbers larger doesn't work either (trust me, we've attempted)

We attempted giving them lowered harm from AOE/attacks, and it opened up other troubles - more often than not that a team of 2 rangers could take on almost any boss in a dungeon by intelligent swapping of pets and letting the pet take aggro. It's unfortunate, yet we can not just expand and decrease numbers till pets are perfect - we have tried genuinely tough, nonetheless numbers are not going to resolve pets without letting them break everything. We have to look deeper into mechanics, AI, player actions, and skill-sets.

As much as they appear vestigial, the "attack" and "return" keybinds are genuinely the only thing that can give the GW2 gold player any control, and they may be a bit unwieldy. ArenaNet studio extensions not working on the game Guild Wars 2

Director of the Guild Wars 2: creating MMO is a huge risk


Director MMORPG Guild Wars 2, Colin Johanson who spoke to IGN on a MMO-risk projects, and this is what he said: "You're basically betting your company any time you decide that the thing you're going to make is an MMO."

"They require a lot of time to develop," - he continued. "And they require a lot of money, either you achieve successor you're doing very well, or you're not and your company's toast."

Johanson added: "If you have a really big sponsor, you may be able to survive, but it is a huge risk."

'Guild Wars 2' hacking reports downplayed


Guild Wars 2 officials have downplayed reports of mass phishing attempts against its community over the Labor Day weekend.

Guild Wars 2: Disappointed engineer


I've had my share of disappointments when it comes to devs doing weird factors post launch however never like I've observed in this game.

I've posted on various factors why before, the shoddy economy, the lack of DE metas, the lack of concern the devs have for squashing bugs in the 3 weakest and subsequently least played classes, the list goes on.

However one of the factors that bugs me was the lack of roleplay, it showed in the individual stories large time. Engineers weren't just engineers for the reason that they were given things to use that magically reformed and were useable again after a timer. They were given particular knowledge plus the nack to fix items & put things together. Apparently no 1 there at Anet thought about this while writing or creating the Guild Wars 2 gold game and it shows. Throughout the individual story one runs into complications that may have easily been fixed by the engineer. Even in WvW engineers are not allowed to repair something even siege equipment.

The design of this class defies physics & that's the final straw for me. Weapons that are slow & sluggish on land work as intended and commonly even quicker then physics will permit underwater. That was the final straw for me. The concept that they couldn't get the simple rules of behavior right for combat for this class just baffles the imagination. & I've heard the logical fallacy argument before that it's a fantasy game, well that doesn't excuse how most abilities on this class deal with explosions & heat however somehow doesn't catch anything on fire, you must trait into that for it to work after which burning only lasts quite a few seconds, bleeds are the same way, as though bullets and shrapnel would not already cause bleeding in the 1st place.

After which there was the entire mounts thing. I thought about it and originally I was against mounts but as I look back I realise just how wrong I was about that. There are plenty of RL gadgets to get around quicker, even those that are subject to steam power are in the museums, so why can't the abilities of the engineer reflect that expertise properly, why isn't an individual on the Anet team making a case about this, why did they drop the ball on engineers being as uneducated as the begger on the corner?

As a last minute Adventurer class When running everywhere one should not are compelled to furnish & unequip a kit to run faster while others of the same kind of class get a permanent out of combat speed boost. What I don't understand is why is this the only other game in existence (other then World of Warcraft to my understanding) that has motorcycles as mounts, when there are plenty of other titles out there that have steamtek in their lore. Why is it that an Indy game can get this personna so right, this understanding right when a AAA title can not even get the weapons to work like the laws of physics demand.

Guild Wars 2 - Arena.net wants to resolve issues with loot February Update

In the upcoming February patch, ArenaNet will introduce a brand new sPvP map - Spirit Watch. Spirit Watch is norn-themed with features such as cliffs and shrines to the Spirits of the Wild. Not only that, although there will be a new secondary objective inside the map.
